Construction dust is finer and more persistent than everyday household dust. Drywall sanding, cutting tile and trimming wood produce particles that drift through the whole home, settling on window sills, door frames, baseboards, light fixtures, inside drawers and on top of cabinets. A normal clean moves it around; a post-construction clean removes it, working top to bottom so dust from higher surfaces doesn't fall onto areas already cleaned. We dust and wipe every reachable surface, clean fixtures and fittings, wipe cabinet interiors and exteriors, and vacuum and mop floors β often more than once.
After a renovation in an occupied home β a new kitchen in a Leslieville semi, a bathroom update in a North York house, or a full condo refresh downtown β dust often spreads beyond the work area into rooms that weren't touched, so we clean the whole space, not just the renovated rooms. A new build or a gut renovation is usually empty, with dust on every surface, protective film on fixtures and stickers on windows and appliances. Both get the same top-to-bottom approach; a new build simply covers more surfaces and takes more time.
Book your post-construction clean after the trades have completely finished β including painters, flooring installers and any final touch-ups β so dust isn't created again after we leave. Ideally, schedule it a day or two after the last trade visit, once paint is dry and fine dust has had time to settle. If you're moving in, book it before your furniture arrives so every surface and cabinet can be reached.
Our service is cleaning, not removal. Large construction debris, leftover materials, packaging and bin or dumpster removal are not part of a standard clean β ask us when booking and we'll tell you what we can help with. Paint splatter, adhesive and grout haze that require specialist products or tools may also be outside what we can safely remove. Exterior windows, carpet shampooing and upholstery steam cleaning are not included.
