Cost guide

Deep clean vs regular clean: cost guide (GTA)

A regular clean maintains the rooms you use every day. A deep clean adds detail work: baseboards, door frames, inside appliances on request, grout and buildup. At Super Fancy Cleaners both cost the same, $35/hr per cleaner with a 4-hour minimum, a $10 gas fee and 13% HST, so the difference is billed hours.

Key takeaways

  • Both services are $35/hr per cleaner with a 4-hour minimum, plus a flat $10 gas fee and 13% HST; a deep clean simply takes more hours.
  • Example: a 4-hour regular clean is $169.50 with HST; a 7-hour deep clean is $288.15 with HST, a difference of $118.65.
  • A deep clean adds baseboards, doors and frames, switches, vents, limescale, surface grout, blinds and cleaning behind movable furniture.
  • Book a deep clean first if the home has not been professionally cleaned in a while, then switch to regular weekly, biweekly or monthly visits.
  • Moving out of a rental? Book move-in and move-out cleaning instead: it includes inside the oven, fridge, cabinets and interior windows.
  • Start with a deep clean if the home hasn't had a professional clean in a while, then keep it up with regular visits.

The short answer: same rate, different hours

Pricing is hourly for both services, so the cost difference comes from time. A regular clean maintains the rooms you choose; a deep clean goes into the detail and build-up that routine visits skip, which takes longer per room. Every booking has a 4-hour minimum and a flat $10 gas fee, and Ontario's 13% HST is applied to labour plus the gas fee. The booking page converts your rooms and extras into billed hours and shows the total before you pay.

What a regular clean includes

A regular house clean covers kitchens (counters and backsplash, sink, stovetop, appliance exteriors, microwave inside and out, cabinet fronts spot-wiped, floor), bathrooms (toilet, shower or tub, glass, basin and taps, mirror, tiles, floor), bedrooms (reachable surfaces, mirrors, bed made, switches and handles, floors) and living areas (surfaces, electronics dusted, cushions straightened, skirting spot-cleaned, floors). Inside the fridge, oven and cabinets, interior windows and laundry are extras.

What a deep clean adds

A deep clean includes everything above, plus baseboards and skirting hand-wiped, doors and frames washed, light switches and sockets detailed, air vents dusted, under and behind movable furniture, limescale removed from taps and showerheads, surface grout brightening, a full cabinet-front wipe-down, wall spot-cleaning, blinds dusted and radiators wiped. Carpet shampooing, upholstery steam cleaning, exterior windows and construction debris are not included.

Worked examples for a year of cleaning

These are examples, not quotes, using a 4-hour regular clean at $169.50 with HST and a 7-hour deep clean at $288.15 with HST. Biweekly regular cleaning for a year is 26 visits, or $4,407.00. Monthly regular cleaning is 12 visits, or $2,034.00. Starting with one 7-hour deep clean and then 25 biweekly 4-hour visits comes to $288.15 + $4,237.50 = $4,525.65. Recurring weekly, biweekly and monthly plans show any frequency discount on the booking page, which would lower these totals.

Which one should you book?

Choose a deep clean for a first professional clean, a seasonal reset, before or after hosting, or when the home has been let go for a while. Choose a regular clean to keep a home that is already in good shape on a weekly, biweekly or monthly rhythm. If the home will be empty because you are moving, book move-in and move-out cleaning, which includes inside the oven, fridge and cabinets and interior windows at no extra charge.

How HST and the gas fee are calculated

The Canada Revenue Agency's rates table lists Ontario's HST at 13%. On a Super Fancy Cleaners booking, HST is 13% of labour plus the $10 gas fee. For example, 7 billed hours is $245 in labour; add the $10 gas fee for $255; HST is $33.15; the total is $288.15. A 4-hour regular clean works the same way: $140 + $10 = $150, plus $19.50 HST, for $169.50.

Side-by-side comparison

Kitchen counters, sink, stovetop and appliance exteriors: in both.

Bathrooms (toilet, tub, shower, mirrors, floors): in both, with descaling and grout detail added in a deep clean.

Baseboards, door frames, switch plates: deep clean.

Inside oven and fridge: an add-on in a regular clean, often booked with a deep clean.

Billed rate: the same $35/hr per cleaner. A deep clean usually takes more hours.

Product safety while you clean

Health Canada advises reading and following every product label, never mixing household chemical products, and keeping rooms ventilated with open windows or exhaust fans. Bleach must never be mixed with glass cleaners, other ammonia products or acids such as vinegar, because the mixtures can produce toxic gases.
